The satellite images you view can be based on a past date, or you can view them in real time as they are updated. With up-to-date viewing, you can even watch real time weather conditions in almost any part of the world!

Almost every part of the world is updated in 2-3 hours intervals (at the most) for real time viewing. The developer notes that you'll occasionally come across data that is missing, but with satellite imaging that is continually changing, it should not remain that way indefinitely.
